CEHDEER offers several Women and Youth empowerment programs. But before I go into these programs, let me tell you about CEHDEER.
CEHDEER is a non-governmental organization. The word CEHDEER is an acronym that stands for, “Center For Human Development and Educational Research”. Our main focus at CEHDEER is to help develop the Human Capital in man; ensuring that people can have and access the right human or entrepreneurial development they need.
CEHDEER was founded and registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC in 2012 but began her full operations in 2018. Since then she has been involved in many empowerment programs for youths and women, which has seen about 300 people trained.

Even though the strive for gender equality is advancing, many women are still victims of marginalization. They aren’t given equal opportunities to be educated, work, own businesses, choose a career path, or develop their human capacity.
On the other hand, many youths are victims of joblessness, lack of education, broken homes, poverty, violence, rape, and little or no opportunities to also build human capacity. And without building human capacity, the ability to choose from a range of opportunities become limited. These problems continue to breed the cycle of poverty in society and are a cause for concern.
However, CEHDEER in her aim to help develop human capacity is focused on engaging women and youths in educational, entrepreneurial, and research empowerment programs that can help them learn and develop their abilities to earn for themselves.
Our Educational empowerment programs are intended to inform and train youths and women on different topics to broaden their educational horizon and change their mindsets. An example of such training is a topic on Health matters; such as How to Care for the Kidney to prevent Kidney disease, or ante-natal training for pregnant women and women in general. To help them understand and apply safety measures to taking care of themselves and their children’s health needs.

This training is more practical than theoretical. We provide resources for practical engagement to maximize the development of each trainee.
Our research empowerment programs train youths and women to further sustainable development and as well as add to the body of knowledge. They are taught the various techniques on how to gather information for research. They also learn how the information gathered is analyzed and how to write a good report on any research topic.
The Programs CEHDEER Offers
Like I mentioned earlier, the programs we offer are categorized mainly into Educational, Research, and Entrepreneurial programs. Under these categories, I’ll be mentioning some of the various programs CEHDEER has empowered people on.
1. Soap Making
This is a chemical combination of fats, oils, and lye to produce soap. The process is called saponification. As you are well aware, there are different types of soap. So the production processes differ including the materials as well.
Our training programs cover the production of different types of soaps; ranging from detergents, to bar soaps for washing and bathing. We provide the necessary materials needed for the registered trainees, to engage the various processes first hand.

This involves transforming a piece of fabric into a wearable dress. This vocation is considered very economical because of its high demand. Everyone needs clothes to wear, and women need even more.
In our vocational pieces of training for fashion design, we teach our students how to take basic measurements of body parts. Then also, how to interpret such measurements in the cutting of the fabric. This usually takes some patience to learn and then samples are given to the trainees to practice with on the sewing machine.
For dressmaking, we would usually require more than 1 or 2 days. A week-long workshop is required to help the students understand and begin to master the craft.
3. Phone Repairs
Fixing bad phones is a decent and lucrative vocational skill to acquire; because virtually almost everyone uses a mobile phone. This doesn’t just affect smartphone users, but every phone user.
In our training sessions for phone repairs, our trainees are taught first on systematic dismantling and coupling of various phone samples. Next, they are taught about troubleshooting for problems and also how to fix them. Basic knowledge of how the phone works beyond the usual users’ understanding is also taught.
This training also takes a week-long workshop program, because of the technical requirements and experience of the trainees. This training could require even more time, but based on available resources we only make use of one week.
4. Laptop Repairs
Laptop repair is another training program we empower people on. It is just as economically valuable as phone repairs. Due to the fast-growing nature of technology, the need for a laptop is essential almost for everyone.
The approach we use for training our students on laptop repairs is similar to that of phone repairs. Except that laptops are larger than phones and operate slightly differently.
5. Computer Appreciation
We also train youths and women who are interested in learning how the computer operates and how to use it. In our computer appreciation programs; students learn the basics of the computer system, and mostly what islet is used for.
6. Content Writing
Every information on the web is referred to as content. However, for web writing, because of the way readers are perceived to check for information; writing for the web takes a different format.
Our content writing program teaches students or those interested in how to write quality content for websites, blogs, news websites, and others, that will be read.
Above are a few programs that we empower women and youths to develop their Human capacity.
